Landon Donovan Officially U.S. Goal Scoring Leader

US Soccer – It is FIFA Approved now. FIFA, the international soccer governing body, has now recognized US last friendly game against Denmark as an official international match where mr. Donavan scored a goal from PK. This goal puts him above all US goal scorers who played for US national team.

Before this match he was tied with Eric Wynalda who had scored 34 international goals for US national team. Now FIFA counting the freindly game against Denmark in, London Donavan has 35 goals and holds this record.

Congratulation to him and his fans and supporter and perhaps this could be a motivation for him to score more goals in future for US so he can keep this record for a while.

US Soccer - Key to success and advancement of US soccer relies on its youth. US is the sole country where it has so many registered youth playing club soccer. In order for US to advance in this sport, it needs to continue improving investing in its youth soccer programs and teach them proper soccer by well trained coaches, and promote programs in schools so youth can continue playing soccer and don’t change into other sports later becasue of lack of opportunity.

Youth club country in the country are currently more like a business. But youth clubs should be more technical oriented, have better coaches, have year around training and programs, and participate in more competitive and rewarding leagues and tournaments.

It is up to US soccer officials to create that environment of competitiveness where the the youth clubs are forced to become more competitive to they hire better coaches and step up their game so it can help this country become a true soccer nation with flow of talents into its soccer.
